On Saturday, our Quilt Guild met and approximately 35 members took the class on Making Spiral Placemats and Table Toppers. Oh, the design possibilities are endless and it is hard to decide what fabrics to use. It was a very encouraging class in that almost everyone finished their top, in time for "Show & Tell". I've already begun cutting out centers and strips for additional Table Toppers. They will make great gifts!

These look like such fun to make.
ReplyDeleteThey are fun to make and rather addicting. I have spent all day cutting the middle square from many different fabrics, along with lots of strips. After I took the picture above, I finished one more top and presently I am chain piecing 3 more tops. Good exercise-sew, press, cut and back to the sewing.
DeleteFun blocks! Do you use a pineapple ruler?
ReplyDeleteYes, I did use a Pineapple Ruler (6" x 12") which I've had for some time. It was great to find a new use for it. However, you really only need a ruler that has a 45 degree mark on it.
DeleteAlso, enjoyed the photos you've posted on your Blog. Beautiful sky pictures.
Those are wonderful! I love the fabric you've chosen.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm hoping to finish them all by this week-end.
