Design Wall Monday

It may be Monday, Feb. 3rd, according to the calendar, but for me, I'm still working on January's "Blue" quilt and it's still on my Design Wall.  I have picked out a textured black for the sashing but first I need to get the blocks closer to the same size.
I should have followed the pattern directions because at present, all the blocks are different sizes.

Hop on over to Judy's Blog at Patchwork Times.com
and see what others are working on this fine Monday.

January "Blue" Scrappy Blocks
I did finish a small quilt for Project Linus.  I didn't have enough fabric for the binding, so I used 2 fabrics and alternated them around the quilt.  I also completed the binding entirely by machine.  It wasn't perfect but I am happy with my first attempt at machine binding.

  1. The first time I tried varied size blocks, I was pretty random--whatever size was easy to make each block in. It was a sampler quilt. When it came time to put it together I realized I should have made the smaller blocks in a number that would be multiplied to make the larger size.--at least for some of the settings I admired. So I solved it by putting some on point and trimming to size and others got framed. I like your blue blocks a lot and am eager to see how you solve the size issue.
