| DWM-Quilt of Valor Blocks |
Last Monday evening I discovered a bag of red, white, and blue scraps and decided to work on another QOV. I was delighted to find 4 blocks already completed, so at my Tuesday sewing group, I started cutting strips (6 1/2" by 2 1/2") and when I got home, I began sewing the blocks together. By Thursday afternoon, I had completed all the blocks and began sizing them to 10 1/2" square.
That is when I discovered why there were 4 completed blocks that were never used in the last quilt I made. Those 4 blocks only measured 10" square. The seam allowances were too big. So, I took them all apart and resewed using a scant 1/4". The outside strips were too short, so I cut new blue strips, which has worked out well, since there is now more variety of blue fabrics. I still need a couple of borders before I request a LA. Hop on over to Judy's at Patchwork Times to see what others have designed.
When you put it away you say, "I'll remember the issue/problem/measurement." And then when you pull it out again you barely remember the project, no less the details. Story of my life.
